About the role

  • Full time permanent Team Leader role in Family Services
  • Based at the Epping Community Services Hub with 12 agencies
  • Join a leading provider of Family Services in Victoria

 

Make your mark across 2 programs:

The position includes two programs: Integrated Family Services (IFS) and Parenting Children with Complex Disability (PCCD) Program.

  • The IFS program is delivered in the context of the North East Metro Child and Family Services Alliance, which is an alliance of twelve agencies and DFFH.  Most referrals to IFS are from The Orange Door.
  • The PCCD program delivers intensive flexible and tailored packages of support to families and children at risk of relinquishment due to the child’s complex disability support needs or to children residing in residential care due to the child’s disability needs.  Referrals are generally from a DFFH Disability Practice Advisor.

 

The skills you will use day to day:

  • Your understanding of the Child Protection, OOHC placement and support services and the family services system, including the legislative and policy framework.
  • Flexible, responsive and evidence-informed interventions to address the needs of children and improve family functioning.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches that underpin casework practice (including theories of trauma, child attachment, child development and abuse)
  • Experience and skills in developing and leading a team that is inclusive and engaged, and providing staff with good quality supervision, coaching and professional development.
  • Skills and experience in delivering programs and services within required timeframes and budget parameters.
